Creative Playdate Program: Policies & Guidelines
Registration
Program registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. A spot is considered reserved once we have received payment and a completed registration form. A waiting list will be established for programs that have reached capacity.
Health & Wellness
Illness: Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students. Please refrain from sending your child to a program if they exhibit any symptoms of illness, such as a cold, flu, fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, etc., or if they have had a fever in the previous 24 hours. In addition, children with lice should remain home until treated and are lice free. Parents/guardians of children who become ill during a program will be called and asked to pick up their child.
Nut-free: As we have participants with allergies and our hosting venue is nut-free, we appreciate you only sending nut-free snacks/food with your child.
Attendance & Punctuality
Please inform us of your child's absence, lateness, or pickup as soon as possible by emailing info@secondnaturearts.org or texting/calling 413.457.1646.
Authorized Adult Participant Pick Up
Please plan to pick up your student on time and notify us if you'll be late. For participants being picked up by someone other than a parent/guardian/authorized adults listed their in registration, please email info@secondnaturearts.org with the name of the person, relationship to student, and a contact phone number.
Appropriate Dress
Please send your child in layers appropriate for the weather and outdoor play. In the cooler months, layers should include a warm jacket, snow or rain pants, hat, gloves, and boots. In the warmer months, please provide layers that can be removed as the day warms up, along with a sun hat and sneakers or sandals suitable for recreation.
Behavior Policy
All participants are expected to abide by the following:
Be kind and respectful to other participants, staff, and volunteers. Use friendly and inclusive words when talking to others.
Always follow safety rules as instructed by staff, including staying in the assigned areas and keeping a safe body at all times.
Listen attentively to staff, follow instructions promptly, and seek clarification if instructions are unclear or not understood.
Resolve conflicts peacefully and report any ongoing issues to staff.
Care for program materials and equipment with responsibility. Please note that damage to materials or the physical space caused by deliberate misuse will be billed to the participants’s parent/guardian.
If participants engage in behavior outside of our guidelines the following may occur:
A verbal request to change the behavior, a brief break from activities, and/or an age-appropriate discussion to resolve the issue. If necessary, we will involve parents/guardians.
A temporary or permanent suspension from the program if there is repeated or severe misbehavior. In this case, no refunds or credits will be issued.
Photography & Videography Media Policy
When possible, we document our programs so that we can share what we do via social media, on our website, via emails as well as for marketing purposes. We will never share the name of participants unless we receive permission to do so from a parent/guardian. As such, Second Nature Arts reserves the right to take photographs and/or video of programs for promotional use. If you prefer your child not be photographed or videotaped, please email info@secondnaturearts.org.
